Why haven't CRMs solved relationship coverage?

A CRM is a system of record, not a system of action. It stores what happened after a banker notices, researches, decides, and acts, but it performs none of those steps. CRM investment improved reporting and pipeline visibility without reducing the cost of producing one proactive action, so coverage stayed rationed.
